One Hundred Black Men, Inc. of New York Holds 35th Annual Gala

Mount Sinai Health System Trustee Carla A. Harris was honored recently at the 35th annual gala of One Hundred Black Men, Inc. of New York, an organization that provides mentoring, education, and other opportunities for the black community. The organization founded the Eagle Academy for Young Men in 2004, which operates five all-male public schools in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Harlem, N.Y., and Newark, N.J. (more…)

Friends of Odysseus Hosts Fall Golf Classic

The Friends of Odysseus, a mentoring program established in 2012 by black male faculty for black and Hispanic male medical and graduate students, recently sponsored the First Annual Fall Classic Golf Outing—an effort to introduce participants to the inherent networking opportunities of golf. The group hosts a number of activities and provides students with ongoing mentorship interaction with senior faculty mentors during their years of professional development.

Friends of Odysseus Hosts Mentoring Social

Faculty from throughout the Mount Sinai Health System joined residents, and medical and graduate students, at a recent social event sponsored by Friends of Odysseus, a black male mentoring program established in 2012 at the behest of Mount Sinai leadership to assist with the recruitment, retention, and promotion of black and Hispanic males in the sciences and medicine.
