Amy Robach, News Anchor for Good Morning America, discussed her diagnosis and struggle with breast cancer as the keynote speaker at the annual Breast Service Luncheon benefiting Mount Sinai Beth Israel’s Appel-Venet Comprehensive Breast Center, and the Comprehensive Breast Centers at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and Mount Sinai West.
Three-hundred supporters, benefactors, physicians, staff, and leaders from the Mount Sinai Health System gathered for the luncheon at 583 Park Avenue on Wednesday, October 14. Peter W. May, Chairman, Boards of Trustees, Mount Sinai Health System, welcomed the guests and expressed the importance of philanthropy to sustain the work of these programs. The breast centers offer life-saving diagnoses and treatment, clinical research, education, screenings, genetic counseling and testing, same-day ultrasound-guided biopsies, and a variety of cancer support groups and survivor clinics to thousands of women each year. Fashion designer Angel Sanchez showcased his fall 2015 collection. Proceeds from the luncheon help patients participate in wellness programs not covered by their insurance providers.
