The Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center (MSAHC) honored four individuals and a nonprofit organization for their commitment to the young people of New York City at its eleventh annual “Breakfast of Legends” event held Thursday, October 23, at The Plaza Hotel.

The MSAHC is one of the largest and most comprehensive adolescent health centers in the nation, and provides free medical, mental health, sexual and reproductive health, dental, and optical services to more than 11,000 underserved youth and young adults, ages 10 to 24.

Peter W. May, Chairman, Boards of Trustees, the Mount Sinai Health System, told the 300 guests: “Your generosity has allowed the Center not only to help meet a critical community need, but to become a national leader in the field of adolescent medicine.”

Angela Diaz, MD, MPH, Jean C. and James W. Crystal Professor in Adolescent Health, and Director of MSAHC, pledged to build on the Center’s 46 years of accomplishments. “Our goal is to create a blueprint of our integrated service model to help shape top-quality adolescent care throughout the country,” she said.

  • David L. Reich, MD, and Mr. Keith Marran. Dr. Reich is President and Chief Operating Officer of The Mount Sinai Hospital, President of Mount Sinai Queens, and Horace W. Goldsmith Professor of Anesthesiology. Dr. Reich and Mr. Marran are devoted to developing talent and careers in LGBT youth, students, and young professionals.
